About

Create your own piece of unique textile artwork under the guidance of artist Louise Goult.

Mountmellick is an Irish form of hand embroidery that's inspired by nature and uses only white threads on a white background. Beautiful and interesting details are created by combing different threads and textures.

During this workshop you'll learn how to transfer your chosen design to fabric, either using those provided for you or your own design. You'll then learn a range of traditional Mountmellick hand embroidery stitches and create your own piece of artwork to frame or use as a greetings card.

All materials are provided, however of you have particular threads or fabrics you would like to use please feel free to bring them with you. This workshop is for people of all levels of embroidery experience from complete beginners to the more accomplished embroiderer.

Suitable for adults.
If you need to bring a personal assistant / carer please book them a free ticket. If none are available please contact Hannah.Mackay-Jackson@twmuseums.org.uk
